Spring Looks with Sundance Square

IMG_1523197151590Spring is here! And so is the crazy weather. This time of year, I always go through my closet and do a little spring cleaning to remove worn out items.  Most of these are shoes because I’m constantly on my feet.  Then it’s time to refresh my wardrobe for spring. When I heard that Sundance Square was hosting it’s Blogger Games on April 7th-8th, I decided to join and simultaneously add new pieces to my closet.

What is Sundance Square?  It’s best described as a ’35 blocks span in Downtown Fort Worth, filled with dozens of options for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The 42 buildings located in Sundance Square are both modern and historic. Red-brick streets, charming courtyards, lush landscaping, and an expansive plaza add to the authenticity and excitement.’ It truly is the heart of Fort Worth.

I prepared for the Sundace Square Blogger Games by saving money and looking online to get an idea of what I wanted to purchase.  I wanted the pieces to items that I really liked, not just something to wear for “Instagram.” These outfits are going home with me. Check out the new pieces I’ve added to my wardrobe:  (Items from national retailers are linked below; items from local stores must be purchased in store.)

Outfit #1 Parts UnknownIMG_20180408_082512_62420180407_192923-02I mixed print and texture in Outfit #1 for the Sundance Square Blogger Games. Fort Worth is “Where the West Begins” and Parts Unknown lives up to this title. It’s a local Sundance Square retailer that features trendy country-western pieces. I’m not a country girl at all, but the I fell in love with the Shearling Snap Vest. By pairing the textured sheep vest along with an animal printed scarf, I created an easy focal point to finish off a basic white sweater and the perfect pair of skinny jeans. Parts Unknown sells popular Kendra Scott jewelry which I incorporated to pull it all together. It was an excellent choice for Saturday’s cold snap!

Outfit #2 FrancescasIMG_20180408_084853_581Floral Maxi Dress| Shoes

I went home with this Floral Maxi dress for Outfit #2 in the Sundance Square Blogger Games. From luncheons, daytime weddings, festivals, or any other spring event- this lovely maxi dress from Francescas is the perfect choice. I absolutely loooove the high neckline and bare shoulders. It’s so me! To complete this look, I paired it with Francescas stylish cognac blocked heels.

Outfit #3 Yours TrulyIMG_20180408_090549_488jenna-sundance-1052I’m discovered my favorite color (fuschia) while browsing local retailer YoursTruly for the Sundance Square Blogger Games. Romantic ruffles add life and give a new spin on this comfortable t-shirt dress. It’s something you can throw on in a pinch and look put together. Following the simple theme of this dress, I paired it with a long necklace and matchings earrings to further emphasize the length. Yours Truly was so nice. It has something in all price points for everyone!

Outfit(s) #4 Loft

IMG_1523197151590IMG_20180408_092848_883Loft loves teachers (professionals) and understands our need for quality & style on a budget. Both modest and fashionable, this is one of those dresses that can easily be worn on all occassions. I couldn’t leave it in the store! The embroidered details give it a classy touch, and the length is excellent for the workplace. To polish the look, I paired it with black closed toed shoes and a matching belt. *My shoe size was unavailable in store, so I used my own. Should this stripped midi dress be the 4th entry for the Sundance Square Blogger Games?

It was so cold outside, but I had to show you see these shorts. I love Loft and Loft loves me! I always find something in this store. These bold printed shorts immediately caught my eye. A simple soft red t-shirt completed this early Spring look. There were sooo many adorable pieces to choose from that I spent foreva’ in the dressing room. What do you do when you can’t pick just one outfit? Answer: buy them both!  Shall these bright floral printed shorts be the 4th entry for the Sundance Square Blogger Games? Leave me a comment below!

👨‍👩‍👧Mommy Shopping Tip:  I had Jocelyn with me while shopping.  She’s a great shopper at 7 years of age, but like any child, she gets a little bored waiting on mommy. To keep her busy while I was in the dressing room,  I bought along her Samsung Tablet loaded with her favorite games and children shows from Netflix.

All in all, I had so much fun shopping in Sundance Square, even during our ridiculous cold snap!  But I figured, if we can run around Iceland during the frigid cold, then we can run around the streets of downtown Fort Worth. With it’s many national and local stores, Sundance Square has something for everyone, in all every price point. (👨‍👩‍👧Mommy Tip: You can find children’s clothing on the 3rd floor of H&M, and national retailer located in Sundance Square.)

Please come out and visit downtown Fort Worth. Swing by for shopping, have dinner, or catch movie. Watch a performance at Bass Hall or Circle Theatre. Laugh your heart out at one of the many comedy clubs or just thang out in the Sundance Square Plaza with it’s beautiful fountains. Grab a coffee at Star Bucks or a smoothie at Jamba Juice and just people watch. I hope you’ll come to love my hometown as much as I do.
