LuLaRoe- Where Fashion Meets Comfort

DSC05047Women endure a lot in at the name of fashion. You don’t see men walking around in pointy toe high heeled shoes for date night.  Men do not wear girdles to hold in their middles when they wear a tight fitting dress. My husband doesn’t sit for 2 hours every six weeks to have his hair relaxed, washed, conditioned, rewashed, trimmed, blow-dried, and then styled all in the name of looking good.  However, we women are often times willing to do just about whatever it takes to make ourselves presentable. This includes wearing uncomfortable clothing- even when working out! Is there a point where fashion meets comfort?

There is with LuLaRoe!

Their items are comfortable yet stylish, and so soft.  They sell dresses, shirts, skirts, vests, and so many other pieces for the ladies. You can see their collection here.  Personally, I’ve fallen in love with their colorful leggings. Why? First, Lularoe’s leggings easily keep their shape and color after washing. Second, they are so buttery soft and also great for sleeping and lounging. They are stretchy without being too tight or too loose.  I wear size small and prefer the printed leggings over the solid colored ones. At 5 feet 7 inches tall, they are long enough for my legs! Third, these leggings are perfect for light workouts. Some women wear leggings both inside and outside of the home sporting an athleisure look. However, I am not one to do this. (My butt is just too big for that. I need pockets on my derriere!)

DSC05079When I eat healthy and stick my fitness routine, by summertime I am swimsuit ready. 2 days of running and 1 day of Pilates with hand weights does the trick! How do I maintain a regular workout schedule as a full time teacher, wife, and mother? Here are 3 easy tips:

  1. Make the time!  I get up Sunday mornings before my family awakes.  This is the perfect time for a peaceful 3 mile run. This keeps me ready for the 5k Fort Worth Zoo Run each Spring.
  2. Do things simultaneously. Wednesday afternoons at I take my daughter to the park and run laps around the playground, never taking my eyes offher.  This is now my 2nd day of cardio, running another 3 miles.
  3. Work out with your kids!  Getting together with my girlfriends to workout was easy before we all became mothers. Now, our schedules do not coincide. I didn’t give up my fitness routine.  When my daughter began to mimic me I realized that I already had a workout buddy.  Now, on Friday nights, I lay my mat in front of the TV and follow along with AB Ripper X from P90X. I use 3 pound hand weights to add rigor. This video kicks my butt each week while Jocelyn giggles at my antics. I love working out with her. I’m teaching her by example to take care of herself. LuLaRoe’s leggings are perfect for my pilates!
  4. *Bonus Tip:  I drink 6 glasses of water each day to keep hydrated. (I haven’t quite made it to 8 glasses yet.)  I also watch my food intake by logging what I eat into my Fitbit Charge HR.  This helps me not to over eat and make sure I take 10,000 steps each day.  Most days, I reach my goal!  I cannot do anything more than this because I will aggravate the slipped disc in my neck- which is no fun at all.

So what do you do to stick to your fitness routine! How do you find the time? What motivates you? Please comment below. I’d love to know!

So how did LuLaRoe come to be?

DeAnne Stidham, founder of LuLaRoe, was at a crucial time in her life. She was a single mother raising seven children and trying to balance time at work and at home. She was desperate to find a way to be at home, be a mom and provide for her family.

DeAnne met a pair of dress wholesalers and was inspired to start liquidating end of season dresses to friends and family. The wholesalers heard her pitch and saw in DeAnne the talent and drive to make her dreams a reality. They believed in her.

She launched LuLaRoe and opened her business up to other women who want to become retailers.  they are not just retailers but a team of driven individuals who are writing their own stories. They are enjoying their work. They are building new relationships with positive and successful people. They are becoming more confident, empowered individuals. They are making significant income all by scheduling and co-hosting LuLaRoe Pop-Up Boutiques.

I’m amazed by the mission of this aspiring young company.  Experience the comfort for yourself. Check out LuLaRoe, where comfort meets style! DSC05089

Yes it is. If something is stressful to complete many times we won’t even get started.

Great post! I have not been the biggest fan of leggings overall, but recently my sister in law was wearing a pair of Lula Roe’s and I have to say I may be converting 🙂 The softest and most amazing stuff!

Loveee the print of those leggings–so unique! I’m with you on really ‘making time’ to fit a workout in and what a great idea to run the park while you’re daughter is enjoying some play time too. Awesome tips, girl!
