I love to be current and stylish, but I am more on the conservative side. I adore the idea of slits, off the shoulder blouses, and cut out dresses. However, far too often there is just something about these styles that make me feel uncomfortable. I feel that style is a way to express the person I am on the inside. I am so afraid that by wearing certain styles that I will communicate something that I am not. Therefore, I shy away from them.
“I feel that style is a way to express the person I am on the inside.”
However, today was one of those rare occasions where I stepped out of my comfort zone because a garment called my name. This beautiful Dotted Off the Shoulder Crepe Blouse from Express exudes innocence, sweetness, and femininity. It’s not form fitting whatsoever, which is just what I was seeking.
The fabric floats gently around my torso which keeps it from sticking to my skin on hot humid afternoons. It is not see though because the torso is fully lined- not revealing my skin or under garments. The soft ivory hue definitely gives of summer vibes, it’s perfect for a casual day. However, it can easily be dressed up with carefully selected accessories.
The bell like sleeves and dotted crepe texture are so romantic- making me dream of romantic date nights with my husband. Best of all, the wide gathering of the neckline kept the blouse from shifting all day long. I was not worried at about the top slipping down and revealing too much. It stayed in place, hovering on my shoulders, and resting below my collarbone. By pairing this simple, yet elegant top with a pair of black skinny jeans, I instantly felt like me- sassy, chic, feminine, and modest.
