Over the weekend we received two party invitations- one for a friend’s going away party (they are moving to Bolivia) and another for a Charity event. Our Special Assembly Day is also a few short weeks away. So we RSVP’d to both parties, commissioned Grandma & Grandpa to babysit, and now it’s time for outfit planning. All events are dressy casual and clearly state “no jeans.” So I headed over to Tanger Outlets to shop at the Ann Taylor Factory Store. Ann Taylor Factory has become my destination for affordable stylish work wear, but what about party attire? Today on the blog, I’ve partnered with Ann Taylor Factory to show you three great winter party looks. (All content and opinions stated are my own.) Now let’s get to the party looks!
Look #1- Shimmery Top & Velvet Pants
Necklace| Earrings | Top | Pants |Pants (Curvy)| Shoes
Velvet is HUGE right now….and warm for winter! These velvet black skinny jeans are a wardrobe staple, and can be worn year and year. I easily paired them with a sparkly top, and snagged a pair of matching velvet shoes. The bow details add a sweet feminine touch. To finish off the look, I kept the jewelry light and airy, really allowing the shimmery blouse to stand out.
Look #2- Black Jumpsuit
Black Jumpsuit | Bow Shoes | Leopard Clutch
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always admired jumpsuits. However, I couldn’t find a pattern that suit my classic style. I also hadn’t found one that fit my long torso. (For reference, I’m 5 foot 7 inches tall, 130 pounds and wear a size 2 in this jumpsuit.) That’s all changed! This Ann Taylor Factory jumpsuit is everything that I’ve been looking for. Chic– it features clean lines and slit details on the legs. Modest– no cleavage and nothing hanging out. Flattering– it’s not skin tight, and the front tie allows you to conceal your tummy. Versatile– this all black jumpsuit can be worn year round! It was the very first item I picked up. I’m cannot wait for the party!!
Look 3- Classic Jacquard Skirt
Cowl Neck Top | Jacquard Skirt | Gold Shawl
Last, but not least, I spotted this elegant jacquard skirt. The mix of navy and gold embroidery is superb, giving it a classic feel. Most of all, the length of the skirt is just what I wanted. The online pictures makes the skirt appear as if it would hit you just below your knees. In actuality the skirt is MIDI LENGTH. They were all sold out of the regular length in store, so I tried on the Petite size 2. I was happily surprised when the petite skirt still hit well below my knees. So if you’re looking for a classy midi length skirt for your winter party, this is the one to get. I really wanted the skirt to stand out, so I kept it simple by pairing it with a black cowl neck top. Later, I threw my gold shawl around my shoulders. It’s an old favorite that I’ve used year after year.
We busy moms have no time to go from store to store. It was so awesome to find 3 great outfits, each one very different, all in one location. Ann Taylor Factory really has great looks for winter!
