My first experience with Vacay Style was on our recent trip to Costa Rica. I liked everything about the garment: fit, color, fabric, and quality. However, it was the resilience of Vacay Style which won me over. I promised that I would happily purchase from them again. True to my word, I’m back with a lovely piece from Vacay Style.
For a week in Sunny California I chose the St. Barts Convertible Dress from the St. Barts collection.
Look and Feel: This maxi dress is just as stated on the Vaycay Style website: “Unbelievably soft fabric and a gorgeous turquoise multi-color print, make this dress a must have for your next vacation! The silhouette is as comfortable as it is flattering. Although hard to notice in the images, the skirt is cut on the bias and designed with a slight “shark bite” hem which gives it a beautiful flow when you move.”
Fabric: Fabric: 90% nylon, 10% spandex The combination of nylon and spandex feels smooth against your skin. The fabric itself isn’t too heavy; never weighing you down, always comfortable. The bold print is really just as colorful in person as it is in photos! I wasn’t disappointed. Also noteworthy, the fabric is not opaque or see through at all.
Fit: The combination of nylon and spandex makes this garment well fitted, especially in the bodice. For reference, I’m 5’7″ tall, 130 pounds, and wearing size x-small. It’s a bit snug. If you’re in between sizes I suggest you choose the larger size. I could have easily purchased size small and had a little more wiggle room. When worn as a strapless dress the individual doesn’t have to worry about it sliding down. Due to the nylon and spandex blend the St. Barts Convertible dress retains its elasticity. This is esential when the dress worn around the hips as a maxi skirt. There is no need to worry about stretching it too much. It will return to its normal shape very easily.
Garment Care: Machine wash cold, no tumble dry. Or dry clean. I had no problems washing and drying the garment at the end of the week. It looked good as new after going through the wash. It’s perfect for travel!
Versility: Most of all, I loved the versility of the St. Bart’s Convertible dress. I was able to wear it two different ways for 2 completed different looks. For daytime lunch in Santa Monica, California I converted my dress into a skirt and topped it with a crisp white blouse. Later that night, I converted the garment into a strapless dress for a beach themed anniversary party. The St. Barts Convertible dress was the perfect choice for both occasion. Each time this beautiful dress didn’t disappoint.
